They say it's not just what you know, but who you know. Personally, I believe it's a bit of both!
One of my top goals this quarter was to find a local networking group where I could feel included, supported, and inspired to grow my business vision - while also connecting with like-minded professionals.
I'm excited to share that I've found exactly that! I recently attended the Cotswold Networking Group in Cirencester on a beautifully sunny Wednesday evening, hosted at the impressive Roots and Seeds.
The venue
WOW! The setting alone is truly inspiring. Tucked just off Cirencester Park in the historic old stables, you'll discover this charming café/ restaurant.
Walking past their kitchen garden, overflowing with fresh vegetables, flowers and fruits, you instantly know the food here is going to be top-notch. Then there's the play area and courtyard, perfect for relaxing and soaking in the atmosphere. And exciting news - their pizza restaurant is opening soon!
The warm welcome
From the moment I walked through the door, I was met with open arms, bright smiles and warm hellos. People immediately came up to chat, curious to know who I am and what I do. Then came the table sessions, where we each had a one-minute timer to share as much about ourselves as possible. One minute felt a bit rushed, especially for someone like me who's naturally a bit shy, but by the second table, I had my opening line down and was ready to go!
Networking in style
This informal style of networking was so refreshing and had me laughing with people I’d only just met - it was such a great feeling!
The evening continued with an inspiring talk from Darren Moore of Dash Couriers, who reminded us of the importance of taking steps forward, no matter how small - just keep moving.
We also had a fantastic member spotlight from Tracy Marland of Social Butterfly Digital, who really got our memory cogs turning while delivering some key insights.
Joining the group
By the end of the evening, I knew without a doubt that this was the group for me. I’ve already signed up as a member and can’t wait for the next monthly meeting.
Finding the right networking group is about so much more than just exchanging business cards; it’s about discovering a community where you can truly grow and thrive.
The Cotswold Networking Group Cirencester offers all that and more.
If you’re in the area and looking to connect with a fantastic group of professionals, I highly recommend giving this group a try. You might just find your perfect fit, just like I did. 😊
